Meet Kelsey Spangler! Kelsey is a registered nurse with a background in Pediatric Emergency Nursing and Women’s health. She is also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist seeking to obtain her IBCLC. Kelsey is a military spouse and became a mom about a year ago, with the sweetest one-year-old son. Like many new moms, she struggled immensely with her breastfeeding journey. Kelsey took breastfeeding classes, learned hand expression, and tried so hard to be perfect at it in preparation for her son’s arrival. Unfortunately, she found out the hard way that breastfeeding is a learned skill and it’s not natural for everyone. After experiencing her own issues and not having lactation support, Kelsey decided to go into lactation care so she could help other moms avoid the pitfalls. Kelsey aspires to help every mom reach their own feeding goals, no matter what they are, and feel supported while they navigate parenthood.

Hey, I’m Ashley!
Growing families need support as they navigate new seasons of life and I aim to support them from conception to postpartum. It’s not easy and you shouldn’t have to do it alone. As a doula I want you to feel confident in your abilities to birth and parent your children. I have been working, with families all over the world for 3 years now, providing them with evidence-based information to make informed decisions for their journeys. As a mother of 3 I know how stressful it can be trying to navigate parenthood while trying to take care of yourself.
I studied and went on to certify with DONA International and have supported well over 50 families in the last 3 years. I find it crucial to continue my education and keep up with current studies. I have attended a Spinning Babies workshop, am currently working on my CLC, and studying with Still Birth Day to become a bereavement doula. I hope to have both of those certifications completed by the end of 2022.
In 2023 I hope to bring some new classes to the area as education is crucial when making choices for your family. I began my family at the young age of 19 and suffered from postpartum depression alone. That moment in time was tough which got me thinking about how I could change things for the better. My solution is to offer a free monthly program for new parents to come out and socialize with others in their season of life called Postpartum Pastry Hour. It’s so dear to my heart and I believe important for the community. In the event you are looking for more than a social hour, I am able to refer you to my list of resources to get you the care you need.
As a military spouse of 18 years, I know how lonely it can be moving often and being away from family and friends. It’s my passion to help alleviate some of that stress and to provide a safe space for learning. I’m a hugger by nature, a lover of all things succulents, a labrador enthusiast, and I love to laugh with those around me. My career has shown me that no matter how you become a parent, you truly are magnificent!
